Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the August 16, 2025, by-election for the Edo Central Senatorial District.
The declaration was made at the senatorial collation centre in Ubiaja, Esan South-East Local Government Area, by the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Kingsley Ubaorji.
According to the official results, Ikpea polled 105,129 votes, defeating his closest rival, Joe Okojie of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered *15,146 votes
