Patrick Daaor assumes duty as the new Police Commissioner in Edo state as former Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, bows out to take up his new role as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5.
The handover ceremony began at the main gate of the Edo State Police Command in Benin City, where officers and men received the outgone Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, and his successor Patrick Daaor.
In his farewell address, Monday Agbonika, now the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, reflects on the strategies adopted since April 2025 when he assumed duties and commended the officers and men for the successes recorded during his tenure.
ACP Patrick Daaor while addressing officers and men for the first time as Commissioner placed emphasis on the welfare of personnel and promised to build a stronger relationship between the police and residents of Edo State.
For the Edo State Police Command, the change in leadership marks a new beginning, with the responsibility of keeping the people safe remaining the priority
