The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu has appealed to the Nigerian Federal government to come to the aid of affected flood victims in different communities of Etsako Central Local Government Area of the State.
Shaibu who made the appeal when he visited the communities to see for himself the level of destructions caused by the floods, said he was deeply concerned about the health implications of the damages on the people.
The Deputy Governor while expressing the State government’s sympathy for the flood victims at Udaba-Ekper, Anegbette, Osomegbe and Udochii communities in Etsako Central Council Area, noted that the situation on ground remained a serious health risk to the people.
He therefore appealed to the Federal government and her relevant agencies to come to the aid of the communities by providing palliatives for them and also finding a lasting solution to the perennial flooding.
