Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has decried what he described as a high level of corruption in the state healthcare system.

Governor Obaseki denounced the rot when he played host to doctors from the State Hospital Management Board, Edo Specialist Hospital, Edo Primary Healthcare Agency, and the Ministry of Health in government house, Benin City.

He described the healthcare system as a critical aspect of any society which must be given adequate attention at all times, Governor Godwin Obaseki insists that the right things must be done by key players in the system as his administration will vehemently resist the old order and chart a new course.

The Governor thereafter proceeded to the Stella Obasanjo hospital on an inspection tour of the facilities and promised to revamp the important sectors in the state and to provide quality services to Edo people.
