The GMD noted that the construction work is one of the ways the NNPC is giving back to host communities.

For Governor Godwin Obaseki, the road will serve as a major access route for residents of the communities in two Local Government Areas namely Ikpako, Obateru, Evburokho in Ovia North East and Abiak, Ajoki, kolokolo, Ajamokha in Ikpoba-Okha.

The Governor noted that a similar collaboration was done with the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) in another part of the State which he said failed to materalise.

The indigenes appreciated the joint effort which they said will open up their areas to meaningful development.

A design for the road to link Gelegele, Ikpako, Ughoton and Igbine communities through Ekenwan to Benin City has completed by the State Government.
