In a strategic move to promote safer migration choices, migration experts in Edo State, South South of Nigeria have taken the lead in awareness campaigns on the dangers of irregular migrations.
The focus of the workshop which amplifies Women’s voices in Migration, also highlighted the pivotal role of women in migration decisions.
With campaigners continuously enraging the people with eyewitness accounts of the risky journey of irregular migration, key players at the sensitization workshop organised by the Migration Voice Project in Benin City, the Edo State capital have reinforced dedication to nurturing communities that make safer migration and to also engage women and girls against pressing issues that put them at risk of making the wrong choices.

As the sensitization workshop centred on amplifying women’s voice in decision making, Migration experts including representatives from the National Agency For The Prohibition In Trafficking of Persons (NAPTIP) emphasized the critical role of women in migration decision makings, and the need for them to embrace technological skills to meet with the present realities of the world.
