The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned three men before the Federal High Court in Abuja over an alleged 18.2 million naira fraud involving the impersonation of popular Nigerian blogger and influencer, Tunde Ednut.

The defendants, Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim, were arraigned before Justice S. Ibrahim on a three-count charge bordering on cybercrime, conspiracy to commit fraud, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence.

According to the EFCC, the defendants allegedly impersonated Tunde Ednut, whose real name is Adekunle Tunde Olaoluwa, between April and June 2026.

The commission alleged that the defendants opened bank accounts in different banks using the assumed identity and fraudulently obtained a total of eighteen million, two hundred and sixty four thousand, seven hundred naira (N18, 264, 700) from unsuspecting members of the public.

The defendants however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following their pleas, prosecution counsel, Elizabeth Alabi, asked the court to fix a trial date and remand the defendants in custody.

Justice Ibrahim subsequently ordered their remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja and adjourned the case until November 17, 2026, for further proceedings.
