The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has confirmed the detention of a former Minister of State for Power, Olu Agunloye, days after he was declared wanted.
Sources close to the EFCC say Agunloye has been detained since the thirteenth of December, twenty-three.
The EFCC had on the twelfth of December declared Agulonye wanted, over an alleged six billion dollar fraud, related to the controversial Mambilla Hydropower Project, and it had also in September, questioned the former Minister on the same matter.

Agunloye was a minister under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s government from 1999–2003.
He has been at the centre of the controversy about the Mambilla project.
Obasanjo had accused Agunloye of fraudulently awarding the contract for the project without the Federal Executive Council’s approval, but Agunloye denied the accusations, claiming the former president was distorting facts.
