The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared the immediate former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello wanted for offences relating to economic and financial crimes.
The information is contained in a notice posted on the ant-graft’s official Facebook page on Thursday.
The former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the Anti-graft Agency for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 billion.
The statement asks anyone with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello to report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police station.
The EFCC had sought to arrest Bello in his Abuja residence on Wednesday, but following a standoff that lasted for about eight hours, the ex-Governor was reportedly whisked away by his successor, and incumbent Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo who came to the scene, while the EFCC operatives laid siege.
In reaction, the EFCC warned that it’s a criminal offence to obstruct its Operatives from carrying out their lawful duties.
