The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it is strengthening collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Canadian Government to combat terrorism financing and illegal mining in Nigeria.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed this during a visit by UNODC and Canadian officials to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Olukoyede highlighted the Commission’s record of convictions, particularly in illegal mining, and stressed the need to enhance capacity to counter increasingly sophisticated criminal networks.

UNODC representative, Tom Parker, said the visit is aimed at expanding cooperation, noting that a technical working group has already been established with key stakeholders to address the challenges.
