The Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the 29-day Ramadan fast and urged them to pray for peace and unity in the country as they celebrate the festival of Eid-el Fitri.
In his Eid-El-Fitr message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Barrister Christian Ita, the Governor called on all Nigerians to join hands to build a greater and peaceful Nigeria irrespective of religion, tribe, ethnic and political affiliation.
Ayade commended the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, noting that Ramadan is an important and reinvigorating spiritual exercise whose lessons include love, sacrifice, peace and unity.
While thanking the Muslim Community in Cross River for exhibiting a high sense of patriotism and being partners in fostering a peaceful and progressive Cross River where all citizens co-exist in peace, Ayade said his eight years as Governor largely got the support of the Muslim community in Cross River State.
The Governor wishes the Muslims a happy Eid-el fitri celebration and urged them to also remember the poor and less privileged people in the society by extending a hand of love and support to them as Islam teaches.
