Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has urged Nigerians to have interface dialogue that would enable the country move beyond religious and ethnic bigotry and have a common purpose of enhancing development in the country.
Governor Douye Diri, spoke when he hosted the Muslim community in Government House, Yenagoa to mark the 2024 Eid El-Fitr celebration.
The Governor emphasized the need for unity peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance among all faiths.

He further enjoined all to support the current administration of President Bola Tinubu and his administration in the state for sustainable development
He wants Nigerians to jettison the use of religion as a partisan line in selecting leaders but rather the antecedents and the abilities of the candidates to deliver on good governance.
He stated that Bayelsa remained home to all Nigerians, regardless of religious and ethnic affinities, adding that, Nigeria can only thrive and become a great nation again if everyone can live in peace
