The Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke has appealed to Muslims to intensify prayers for peace and unity in Nigeria.
Governor Adeleke joined other Muslims at the Eid praying ground in Osogbo on friday to observe the two rakat prayers to end the holy month of Ramadan.
Most faithful who were at the Eid praying ground, thanked Allah for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
In his message, the chief imam of Osogbo who led the Eid prayers, reminded the ummah that there is time for everything, urging them to abstain from sin even after Ramadan.
Governor Adeleke said, given his administration’s commitment to easing the high cost of transportation, his government opted to providing free train services that conveyed people from Lagos and Ogun State to Osogbo during the festive period
He assured residents of the state of adequate security and protection of lives and property just as he promised more developmental policies for residents.
