The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has called on Muslims and all Nigerians to remain steadfast in working and praying for peace and unity in the country.
Lawan’s statement is contained in his Eid-el-Kabir message he personally signed, to felicitate with all Nigerians and Muslims on the occasion.
The President of the Senate enjoined the faithful to be grateful to Allah the Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful for the privilege to celebrate Sallah, regardless of their circumstances.
He said the best way to show gratitude to Allah is to share His blessings with neighbors and show love and kindness to all, as taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammed.
Lawan called on citizens not to lose hope, He stressed that their current situation is a passing phase in the historical process of nation-building.
He assured that the government under President Muhammadu Buhari is determined to set the country on the path of greatness, with all the necessary legislative support from the 9th National Assembly.
