Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration in commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Governor Obaseki conveyed this in a statement where he called on Muslims in the state to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for the success of the 2023 general elections.

The Governor says the celebration offered Nigerians the opportunity for thoughtful reflections as they prepare for the 2023 general election.

He noted that inspite of religious, tribal, ethnic and political affiliations, Prophet Muhammad’s message of peace and good neighbourliness should motivate all to work together towards building a strong, united and prosperous Nigeria.

Obaseki urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for the success of the 2023 general elections.

He assured that his administration will continue to make policy decisions that reflect the diversities as a people and to sustain the peaceful co-existence of all residents in Edo State.
