Residents of Aisegba Ekiti have appealed to the Ekiti state government and Benin Electricity distribution company to fast-track processes of restoring Electricity supply to communities in Gbonyin Local Government and Ekiti East local government areas of the state.
The residents in the affected communities who noted that they have been without power supply for ten years say the development has impacted negatively on their social and economic activities.
Aisegba Ekiti is one of the communities in the Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti state, it is one of numerous communities deprived of electricity in the last decade.
A development, residents say has affected businesses and stall socio-economic development in the affected areas.

They say the prolonged blackout has encouraged rural-urban migration and has also made life unbearable to the people.
In his reaction, a member, representing the Gbonyin constituency in the Ekiti state house of assembly, Peju Okunuga said the state government is working tirelessly to ensure the quick restoration of power to the affected communities.
Members of the affected communities have also called on the Benin electricity distribution company to do the needful to restore power supply to the areas.
