A Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has reaffirmed the victory of Biodun Oyebanji in the Ekiti State APC governorship primary election held on 27th, January , 2022.
The first runner up in the primary election, Kayode Ojo had dragged the APC and the winner of the party’s governorship primary election to court where he urged the court to declare him winner, on the grounds of alleged widespread irregularities during the primary election.
The plaintiff also sought an order of injunction restraining INEC from recognizing Biodun Oyebanji as the Governorship candidate of the APC in the 2022 Ekiti State Governorship election or any other persons.
In his judgement on Thursday, Justice Babs Kuewumi said he agreed with the preliminary objections raised by counsel for the second defendant Kabir Akingbolu that the writ of summon in the suit was defective.
Counsel for the defendant applauded the judgement but the Counsel for the plaintiff declined any comments on the judgement.
Meanwhile Counsel for the plaintiff did not disclose whether his client would appeal Thursday’s judgement.
