The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ekiti State, Adeniran Tella has raised some security concerns in the build up to Saturday’s Governorship Election.
According to Tella, feedbacks received from some local government areas indicate absence of security personnel in some places, which may affect the deployment of INEC personnel and materials for the excerscise.
The REC requested heads of security agencies to ensure a uniform mode of identification of security agents to prevent impersonation.

He said discovering of early signal warnings by the security operatives is important, stressing that Ekiti is surrounded by four states and all the boundaries need to be covered to prevent incursions from the neighbouring states.
Reacting to the development, DIG Johnson Kokumo assured the INEC REC that a very robust security architecture and synergy with other security agencies are in place
The DIG said officers have been admonished to treat citizens respectfully while enforcing restrictions
