From Ifaki, Oye, Ilupeju and Ikole all in Ekiti North senatorial district, as well as Omuo in Ekiti South, thousands turned out to elect a new Governor.
In the early hours of the day, there were however reports of slow performance of INEC’s BVAS devices. For over 45 minutes, voters especially older ones could not go through accreditation but later in the day, there was some improvement.
Unlike previous elections, electoral officials and materials arrived the polling units on time.
In Ifaki Ekiti ward 2 unit 4 where the SDP Governorship candidate, Segun Oni voted, he raised the alarm over reports of financial inducement in some local governments.
As at the time of filing this report, counting of votes in polling units was underway.
