As a section of the Eko bridge is set to be reopened Monday for traffic after several months of closure, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has read the riot act to the traders operating along Apongbon axis.
Sanwo-Olu who paid a visit to Apongbon, Lagos Island where he addressed the crowd gathered imposed zero tolerance for commercial activities along Apongbon and Ijora Olopa axis following the activities of some criminals who destroyed a section of the bridge.

The governor explained that the state government will not fold its hands and watch the criminals destroy public infrastructure procured at huge expense by the state government .
Governor Sanwo-Olu further explained that the reopening of the Apongbon end of the Eko bridge Monday is to reduce the burden on motorists and commuters who ply the bridge while construction work will also continue at Alaka axis.
The construction work at Eko Bridge which began about six months ago is one of the three bridges that connect Lagos Mainland to the Island.
It has been a nightmare for motorists and commuters who spend several hours navigating other routes to get to their destinations.
