Elder statesman, Edwin Clark, says one of the challenges with Nigeria is poor leadership and the courage to do what is right and best for Nigerians.
Clark said this when he received the leadership of the National Population Commission in his residence in Abuja which came to seek his support for the 2023.
Edwin Clark told the visiting team from the national population commission that the Nigerian government has been unable to conduct a generally acceptable census since the last head count in 2006.
He added that it was imperative that Nigerian government know the exact population of the country to guarantee national planning.
The first republic Minister also called on the commission not to allow the exercise be hijacked by politicians for selfish interests.
The National Population and Housing Census is scheduled to hold in April 2023 to produce accurate, reliable and generally acceptable census data for national planning.
