Those who spoke to AIT in Portharcourt the Rivers State capital shared their views on the development while expressing optimism that the outcome will be in the interest of the electorate
The news of the postponement of the Election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, came as a surprise to the electorates who were already gearing up for another opportunity to perform their civic rights in the Governorship and state assembly elections which was expected to be an improvement of February twenty-fifth presidential and National assembly polls.
The development according to the electoral umpire was to allow for the reconfiguration of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation Machines, BVAs, as ordered by the presidential election petition tribunal.
