Political parties in Zamfara State have been asked to caution their supporters to avoid fomenting violence before, during, and after the conduct of the 2023 General Elections.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIGP in charge of the Northwest, Hafiz Inuwa, made the call during a meeting with stakeholders in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
He was speaking on the need to join hands to ensure the peaceful conduct of the February 25 and March 11, 2023, General Elections.

DIGP, Hafiz Inuwa, re-emphasized President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to the international community that he would hand over power to a democratically elected president.
He also charged religious and traditional leaders to preach peace to their followers, to ensure they toe the line of peace during the 2023 General Elections.
Some of the stakeholders commended the Police commitment to ensuring peace before, during, and after the conduct of the 2023 General Elections and urged them to keep their eyes on trouble spots.
The Police reinforced its ban on quasi-security outfits from involving in providing security during the 2023 Elections, even as it vowed to deal with anyone found spreading fake news.
