Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday stormed the head office of Dangote Group in Lagos as they intensify probe of Foreign Exchange transactions during the tenure of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Sources close to the EFCC say its operatives are probing Dangote Group and 51 other companies over FOREX allocations believed to be used as conduit pipes.
The operation was said to have also been confirmed by staff of Dangote Group who say the EFCC was deepening probe of FOREX allocations to Dangote throughout the Emefiele tenure.
The EFCC’s Operatives also requested for related documents of FOREX transactions with the CBN according to a staff who didn’t want his name mentioned.
