Former Governor of Imo State Emeka Ihedioha has withdrawn his interest to contest in the coming off-circle governorship election in Imo State.
In a letter signed by the former deputy speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Ihedioha explained that his decision follows a request made by the state chapter of the National Working Committee for a consensus candidate ahead of the party’s Governorship Primaries this year.

He also urged his teeming supporters to be calm and support whomever the party pushes forward in their bid to reclaim the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
