The Emir of Daura, Umar Farouq has described Katsina State as a mini London under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Masari.

Farouq who said this shortly after gifting Governor Masari 2 bulls and sacks of agricultural produce, added that they are parting gifts from the emirate for an outstanding leadership offered to the state, as well as a message to President-elect, Bola Tinubu, that Katsina is an agricultural hub.

The presentation of the gift came when Governor Aminu Masari visited Daura Emirate as he embarks on a farewell tour across Katsina State. The Governor will leave office on May 29, 2023.

The visitations began at the Palace of the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumin Usman, and later to his Daura counterpart, Farouq Umar, where the two monarchs praised his style of leadership, saying, posterity will judge him.

He added that his transformational strides and those of President Buhari have made the state become a little London, with all infrastructural facilities in place.

The emir further praised Masari, for ensuring that during his 8 years tenure, there was never a month that workers were not paid their salaries.

The Daura monarch also appreciated the outgoing governor for effectively tackling the insecurity that is bedevilling the state and urged the people to keep praying for him, to be part of the incoming government of Bola Tinubu.

Outgoing Governor Aminu Masari said his administration has done everything possible to engage religious and traditional rulers, in ensuring peace and unity in the state.

According to him, the farewell visit is to appeal for more unity amongst Katsina people, irrespective of their zones, local governments, or communities.

He said that Katsina people are one family, and enjoined them to sustain the tempo of unity, as preached by the late Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello.

Masari also noted that his administration faced challenges, especially those of insecurity, economic, and the COVID-19 pandemic, but was able to sail through.
