Emirates Airlines has announced it will suspend flight operations in and out of Nigeria from September.
The airline In a statement said the flight suspension will take effect from 1st September 2022.

The airline disclosed that the decision is as a result of their trapped funds within Nigeria, stressing that the airline has tried every avenue to address the challenge in repatriating the funds from Nigeria, as they have made considerable efforts to initiate dialogue with relevant authorities for their urgent intervention to help find a viable solution.
The airline further stated that it is regrettable that there has been no progress therefore they have taken the decision to suspend their operations to limit further losses and impact on their operational costs that continue to accumulate in the market.
The airline appealed to customers as this decision will result in inconvenience adding should there by any positive development in the days ahead regarding their blocked funds in Nigeria, they will re-evaluate their decision.
