8-Year-Old Emmanuela Joins Protesters in Ojota

Among the sea of protesters in Ojota, one face stood out – 8-year-old Emmanuela Ejiugwo.

With a determined look on her face, she held a placard that read: “My dad can’t afford my school fees. My President, help please!”

Emmanuela’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of the human cost of bad governance.

Her father, a struggling worker, can no longer afford to pay her school fees due to the economic hardship plaguing the country.

“I joined the protest because I want the government to help my dad,” Emmanuela said,
“He can’t pay my school fees anymore, and I don’t want to stop going to school.”

Emmanuela told AIT that her father had been struggling to make ends meet.

“I want the government to please help my dad and other parents like him,” she pleaded. “We want to go to school, but it’s hard when there’s no money.”

Emmanuela’s presence at the protest highlights the devastating impact of bad governance on ordinary Nigerians, especially children. Her placard has become a symbol of the protesters’ demands for urgent action from the government.
