Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf says court documents used in the ongoing prosecution of the former state governor and National Chairman of the APC, Umar Ganduje were carted away by those who invaded the court during the protest.

This revelation is coming after the governor was conducted round the court premises by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Haruna Isah Dederi, Chief Registrar of the High Court, Abdullahi Ado Bayero, and other High Court Judges of the State.

In a statement released by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Sanusi Bature, the governor valued the damages caused to be over one billion naira.

According to the statement, the vandalization was a master-minded and staged-managed mission in which the hired miscreants carted away corruption charges documents on former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who has been facing multiple charges before the state High Court.

The governor describes those involved in the vandalization as enemies of Kano State.

The governor wondered why those he called miscreants would be so callous to destroy virtually all units of the High Court including the office of the state Chief Judge with loss accuring to more than one billion naira through stealing of office equipment, destroying offices, burning cars and other relevant materials crucial to the dispensation of justice.

Governor Abba Yusuf according to the statement called on youths in the state to desist from being used by detractors to engage in violence, rather they should concentrate on skills acquisitions for a better future.

The Governor assured that Judiciary as the last hope of the common man must be protected at all cost and therefore directed the immediate rehabilitation of the building with immediate effect with deployment of adequate security for effective justice delivery.

He commiserated with the Chief Judge, Dije Abdu Aboki and the entire Judiciary family for the ugly incident urging them to brace up to cover what was lost in the courts proceedings for the benefit of the common man.
