The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers ( NUPENG) says the union stands with Nigerian youths against police brutality and call for immediate and far reaching police reforms.
NUPENG reiterates the fact that her members are victims of police brutality and abuses through extortions, detention, harassment, and intimidation nationwide.

The union in a statement signed by the president, William Apkoreha, however, denied rumours making the rounds that it shut down oil installations across the country in solidarity with the protesters.
