The 82 Division of the Nigerian Army based in Enugu, South East of the country says it has deployed three hundred soldiers and twenty four officers, as part of her efforts in ensuring the conduct of a peaceful and successful 2023 general election in the region.
Addressing Officers at the Army Command headquarters in Enugu, the General Officer Commanding, 82 Division, Major General Aminu Chinade explains that the deployment exercise is part of the military contribution to safe polls.
Major General Chinade directed the personnel to exhibit professionalism while on duty, and to work with other security agencies in the region.

The GOC warns against any misconduct that could tarnish the image of the Nigerian Army, urging Officers to remain neutral on political and election issues, as well as be guided by the mandate as directed by the Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya.
