The European Union, in partnership with Search for Common Ground, is using reality television as an innovative platform to promote youth empowerment, entrepreneurial leadership, and peacebuilding.
Ahead of the show, participants from the conflict-affected states of Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara are undergoing an intensive training bootcamp designed to equip them with the entrepreneurial, leadership, and practical business skills needed to become agents of positive change in their communities.
Beyond preparing contestants for the competition, the initiative seeks to nurture a new generation of young entrepreneurs and community leaders by building their confidence, strengthening their problem-solving abilities, and encouraging innovation.
Organizers say the programme is designed to empower young people with sustainable livelihood skills, promote economic self-reliance, and foster peaceful coexistence through entrepreneurship and collaboration among participants from conflict-affected communities.
Representatives of the European Union and Search for Common Ground spoke on how the initiative is using entrepreneurship and youth leadership as tools to build resilience, create economic opportunities, and strengthen peace in the participating states.
Participants also shared how the bootcamp is enhancing their entrepreneurial mindset, leadership capacity, and readiness to transform innovative ideas into viable businesses.
Through the Hustle Reality TV Show (Buge Buge), the European Union and Search for Common Ground are investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders, demonstrating how youth empowerment and enterprise can contribute to lasting peace and sustainable development in conflict-affected communities.
