Immediate past Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Gboko West Constituency, Aondona Dajoh, has formally defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after withdrawing from primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

A statement by his media aide, Agber Kulugh indicates that the former Speaker was received into the party by the leader of the PDP in Benue State and former Governor, Samuel Ortom.

The development follows the resignation of the former Speaker from the All Progressives Congress, APC after prolonged internal disagreement and inability to reconcile.

Kulugh added that Dajoh also attended the PDP Senatorial Primary Election as a critical stakeholder of the party from Gboko, where the wife of the former Governor, Eunice Ortom was affirmed as the senatorial candidate of the party.

The former Speaker restated his commitment to the politics of inclusiveness, unity, community development and most importantly, welfare of the people, stating that his political decisions will always be guided by the collective interest of the people of Gboko West and Benue State at large.

Meanwhile, PDP in Benue State has concluded its senatorial primary elections with Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro affirmed as candidate for the
Benue South Senatorial District

Otukpo headquarters of the Benue South Senatorial District was agog as PDP members gathered to affirm the senatorial candidate to represent the party in next year’s general election.

Chris Adaji moved the motion for the affirmation of Senator Moro which was seconded by
Edor Ogbole.

This was just as in Makurdi, the State capital, immediate past State First Lady, Eunice Ortom is affirmed as the consensus candidate for the Benue North-West Senatorial District.

Former PDP State Deputy Chairman, Isaac Mfo, moved the motion for her affirmation and it was seconded by the leader of the party in Makurdi Local Government, Fred Orti.

In the Benue North-East Senatorial District, Thomas Tyolumun Unongo was returned as the party’s Senatorial candidate in Katsina-Ala, the headquarters of the Senatorial District through an affirmation voice note as he had earlier emerged as the consensus candidate of the PDP.
