Suspected hoodlums on Sunday night stormed the Rivers State House of Assembly complex and set the hallow chamber ablaze with improvised explosive devices, IEDs.
The fire inside the Assembly complex after the explosion from the IEDS caused some panic in the area.
The development may not be unconnected with reported impeachment plot against Governor Siminilayi Fubara by the House of Assembly members led by the Speaker, Martins Amaewhule.
There is also an alleged plot to remove the leader of the Assembly, Edison Ehie for refusing to initiate the impeachment move against the Governor.
Meanwhile, the Coalition of Democratic Vanguard which is a group of concerned citizens dedicated to upholding democratic values have issued a strong warning to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and his allies allegedly seeking to impeach Governor Fubara and Leader of the House of Assembly.

The development comes a few days after five Commissioners appointed by Governor Fubara took oath of office after being screened and confirmed by the House of Assembly.
