Nigeria’s female national team, the Super Falcons will not be participating in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World cup that will hold in Brazil having failed to qualify for the tournament.
The Super Eagles also failed to qualify for the just concluded Men’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The setback has brought the leadership of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF under intense scrutiny from lovers of the round leather game.

But, some civil society groups are calling for caution stressing that the setback should not be a determinant of the performance of the NFF leadership, insisting that the disappointment should not be turned into political or sectional blame.
They have called for an end to what they describe as attempts to tribalise or regionalise the NFF election, stressing that those with political ambitions should pursue them without dragging the President’s name into the mud.
