The police say the incident involving 17-year-old Polytechnic student, Benjamin Basil at a bank in Plateau State as alleged suicide bomber was a robbery case, contrary to earlier speculations.
State Police Commissioner, Emmanuel Adesina, stated this while parading the suspect who is a National Diploma 1 Civil Engineering student of Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin-Ladi, alongside eight others arrested for various criminal offences from different locations in the State.

It is another story that reminded the people of Plateau State of the dark days of bomb blast when the suspect stormed the Dadin Kowa Branch of the UBA Bank with suspected explosive device.
The suspect, Benjamin Basil who spoke with Journalists narrated that he is a victim of abduction as he was taken hostage on his way to school on Monday at about 9.00am opposite Police Staff College Jos.
When asked why he was strapped and ready to detonate the explosives, Basil said he was forced by unknown men to forcefully get N100 million from the bank.
