The grieving family of the late Odeh Okoh, a former Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel, recently killed by suspected herdsmen in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, are demanding justice for their son.

While the Community Volunteer Guards said they have arrested an armed herdsman in respect of the killing, the State command of the Civil Defense Corps says investigation is still on and manhunt will continue until the perpetrators are brought to book.

The late Odeh Okoh who was of the rank of f a Deputy Superintendent of Corps was murdered by suspected herdsmen at Shaapera village in Gwer West local Council Area, leaving his family as well as residents in absolute disbelief.

Only daily basis, residents who are yet to come to terms with his unfortunate killing.
besiege his Makurdi residence in the hope that he would return home alive.

It was however some sort of consolidation when the State Community Volunteer guards arrested a person alleged be an armed herder, who reportedly pulled out a gun on farmers for protesting open grazing.

The suspect who spoke through an interpreter, denied using a gun to threaten to kill but blamed his brother for fleeing when seen allowing his cattle to openly graze.

Personnel of the Benue State command of the NSCDC who have been providing cover for farmers to return to their farms through its agro rangers, have themselves become easy targets in recent times.
