Nigerian High Commissioner Designate to South Africa, Femi Fani-Kayode has called on the government of President Cyril Ramaphosa in South Africa to rein in xenophobic groups which have issued a fresh September 30th deadline for all migrants, including Nigerians to leave.
In a post on social media, the Nigerian diplomat who is yet to formally assume duty in South Africa condemned the latest “leave our country” notice, demanding an application of the full weight of the law against the groups for their behaviour.
Ambassador Fani-Kayode equally condemned the murder of a Christian clergyman, Bishop Michael Taiwo Fakunle on September 4th and another James Uchechukwu Nwankwo by officers of the South African Police Service, a day after, demanding a probe into the killings.
