The Federal authorities have arrested American rapper and music producer, Sean Diddy Combs in Manhattan, New York City, United States.
Diddy was taken into custody by the FBI on Monday night, September 16th, 2024 following a sealed grand jury indictment filed by the Southern District of New York (SDNY).
Attorney for the SDNY, Damian Williams said it is expected that the embattled hip-hop star’s indictment would be unsealed on Tuesday morning, and would have more to say then.
Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo in a statement however expressed disappointment with the U.S. Attorney’s office decision to pursue what he termed an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs; whom he described as a “music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist.”
Agnifilo explained that Combs has been nothing but co-operative with the investigation and he had voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of the charges against him.

In November 2023, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend and R&B singer, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura also filed a sex trafficking and sexual abuse lawsuit against him.
