The original Inhabitants of the Federal Capital Territory, have again appealed to the federal government to look into the statelessness of the FCT natives to improve their socioeconomic and political life.

One of the leaders of the group and founder of helpline foundation for the needy, Jumai Ahmadu, made the appeal during a news briefing on Monday in Abuja

Over the years, the original Inhabitants of the federal capital territory have continued to protest what they term injustice by the federal government of Nigeria in taking their land without proper compensation while their tradition and culture are almost going extinct.

The group expressed concerns over the statelessness of the indigenous people of the FCT.

The event had the theme, “The role of traditional skill transfer in the preservation of culture.
The perspectives of the original Inhabitants of FCT.”
