Police in the Federal Capital Territory say they have arrested two suspected kidnappers and rescued three victims held hostage in New Nyanya, Nasarawa State.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, says separate operations also led to the arrest of suspected armed and traffic robbers accused of targeting residents and motorists in parts of Abuja.

The Commissioner says investigations led police operatives beyond the Federal Capital Territory to New Nyanya in neighbouring Nasarawa State, where the three victims were being held.
They were rescued and have since been reunited with their families.
Other tactical operations targeted suspected armed robbers accused of attacks in Kubwa and Nyanya.
Police say the operations led to further arrests.
Another focus is robbery in traffic.
Ten suspects were arrested following complaints about criminals allegedly posing as hawkers to target motorists along congested roads and at traffic stops.

The Police Commissioner says intelligence from residents remains important in identifying criminal activity and preventing attacks.
He is asking members of the public to provide timely information to the police and other security agencies.
