‎FCT Police Raid Illegal Drug Spots, Arrest 8, Recover Arms, Other Exhibits‎By Has Akodi

About eight suspects have been arrested by the operatives of the Federal Capital Territory police command in connection with drugs trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
‎
‎The suspects were arrested during a coordinated raid on some identified hotspots across the Federal Capital Territory.
‎
‎In a statement signed by the FCT Police public Relations officer FCT Command Josephine Adeh, the operatives of the FCT Police Command, under the Anti-Narcotics Unit, successfully executed a series of coordinated raids on identified locations known to be used by criminal elements for sales and consumption of illicit drugs and other narcotic substances.

‎The areas affected during the raids were SDP Junction, Gwagwalada, Lugbe Federal Housing, by Tipper Garage, Wuse Zone 5, by Access Bank and AYA Roundabout.
‎
‎The statement said some suspects who attempted to flee the scene were swiftly pursued and arrested while exhibits such as One hundred (100) rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm ammunition, A large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis and a substantial amount of encapsulated illicit drugs were recovered from them.

‎The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Olatunji Disu is calling on members of the public to continue to support the police by reporting suspicious activities to relevant security agencies for quick response.
