FCTA reads Riot Act as schools resume amid COVID-19

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has issued a strong warning to the management of both the private and public schools, to strictly adhere to established COVID-19 safety protocols.

The Administration explained that the directive requiring schools in the FCT to comply strictly with COVID-19 guidelines, was in line with the decision of the Federal Ministry of Education, to go ahead with the planned resumption date of Monday, January 18, 2021.

In a statement by the FCT Education Secretariat spokesman, Kabiru Musa, all schools in the FCT have been directed to resume accordingly, but must ensure compliance with Covid-19 protocols and School resumption guidelines and checklist, released for FCT Schools.

The Acting Secretary of the Education Secretariat explained that school authorities have been directed to leave no stone unturned to ensure that the staff and students, comply with all laid down rules and regulations while making use of all items provided already and close every gap for the commencement of full academic activities in the schools.

The Education Secretariat added that arrangements have been concluded for regular School monitoring and inspection, by the Department of Quality Assurance and Other Monitoring units, of the various Boards under the Education Secretariat.
