The Federal Capital Territory Administration has closed down the Olajumoke Akinjide Plaza in the Dutse-Alhaji area of Abuja over extreme illegalities in the market.
Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Ikharo Attah, who led the team to Dutse Alhaji, said the rate of extreme contravention in the market has become worrisome to the Authorities.
Attah explained that the indefinite closure of the Olajumoke Akinjide Plaza in Dutse-Alhaji was due to the traders’ continuous flouting of the rules and regulations on waste management and refuse disposal in the market
The Secretary, of Federal Capital Territory Administration, Command and Control Centre, Peter Olumuji, also alleged an upsurge in crime in the market.

Shop owners in the Dutse-Alhaji main market commended the FCTA for the clean-up and appealed to the administration to provide an alternative space for the petty traders in the market.
