The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission , NERC , has directed the 11 Electricity Distribution Companies, DisCos , to increase their tariff effect from 1st September 2021.
A memo sent to Eko Distribution company customers, titled:”023/EKEDP/GMCLR/0025/2021, dated 25th August 2021 sighted by ait.live at the weekend indicate that the Regulatory body NERC has given the energy distributors the leverage to charge a service-based tariff in its letter titled “Tariff

However, the Distribution company,has denied the planned increase in electricity tariff in another memo.
The MD of Eko Distribution company in a statement said they will continue to review effective and regulatory strategies to manage the impact of changes to the micro economic indices affecting end users tarrif.
