The Executive Council of the Federation at its resumed meeting on Thursday after a suspension in honour of the Nigerian late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, approved the 2025-2027 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) which is expected to be sent to the National Assembly any time soon for legislative scrutiny and approval.

This was just as the Council also approved more external borrowings to enable the government fund critical projects across the country.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun told State House Correspondents after the Cabinet meeting that the Federal government intends to borrow an additional $2.2 billion dollars.
