The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has Flagged off the training programme of one hundred youths from the eighteen Local Government Areas of Cross River State in different modern skills aimed at making them employers of Labour.
The programme which was in collaboration with the Cross River State Government, is taking place at the state owned West Africa Fabrication Academy In Calabar.
Speaking during the flag-off, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna, said the training of one hundred youths who will be empowered with starter packs upon the completion of their training, is part of President Muhammadu Buhari youth intervention programme using locally made technologies.
He said NASENI focuses specifically on the areas of modern farming, agricultural processing, production and preservative equipments which young Nigerians can use in the training
Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, represented by his deputy and other speakers charged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the training programme.
The event which is for the South South Geo-Political Zones of the country, witnessed the deployment of some of the technologies on the Shelves of the Agency for the training in Calabar.
