The Special Adviser to the Nigerian President on Health, Salma Ibrahim, has called for partnership between Abia State and the Federal Government to accelerate health sector transformation initiatives outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Dr Salma who was in Abia State on an advocacy visit, commended Governor Alex Otti for declaring a state of emergency in the health sector and increasing health allocation to 15%.
Governor Alex Otti while welcoming the team to Abia State said his administration has aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the health sector to achieve improved access to quality healthcare delivery to the people of the State.
Governor Otti highlighted ongoing initiatives of his government, including the re-equipping of General Hospitals and Primary Healthcare Centers across the State, establishment of a Medical Village, which would serve as a comprehensive healthcare hub to reverse medical tourism and provide top-notch medical services within Abia State.
