FG begins process to appoint five new perm secs

Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF has commenced the accreditation exercise for the appointment of five new Federal Permanent Secretaries, following approval by President Bola Tinubu.

The exercise is aimed at filling existing and anticipated vacancies, with eligible candidates drawn from Adamawa, Bayelsa, Enugu, Kano, and Ogun states.

Declaring the accreditation open in Abuja, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the process as a critical step in shaping the future leadership of the Federal Civil Service.

Walson-Jack who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Common Services Office, Danjuma Usman charged members of the Accreditation Committee to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and strict adherence to established rules and procedures, stressing that fairness, transparency, and merit must guide the entire process.

Chairman of the Accreditation Committee and Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Olumuyiwa Enitan, warned that any lapse at the accreditation stage could compromise the credibility of the overall selection process.

Eligibility for appointment as Permanent Secretary is guided by the provisions of the Public Service Rules, 2021.
