Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has informed the public of the temporary closure of the Eko Bridge to facilitate rehabilitation works on the UBA–Apongbon–Ijora corridor.

This was disclosed at a strategic meeting between the Lagos State FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, and the Federal Controller of Works, Olufemi Dare where implementation modalities and public safety considerations were jointly reviewed.

After due consideration the closure, earlier proposed to take effect at 12:00 midnight on Monday has been rescheduled and will now commence on Tuesday, from 12:00 midnight

Motorists are advised to make use of UBA-Outer Marina-Third Mainland Bridge-Egbelẹta, and other adjoining corridors during the period of the closure.

Hamzat urges all road users to exercise patience, adhere strictly to traffic laws, and comply with diversion signs that will be put in place.

A statement signed by
Sector Public Education Officer, Elizabeth Oluwadamilola further encouraged members of the public to plan their journeys ahead and avoid reckless driving within and around diversion points.
